Angela Davis Reading Group – Boorloo

Finally, we have rescheduled our Boorloo reading group event! On February 21st, we will be hosting a discussion on Angela Davis’ chapter “The Approaching Obsolescence of Housework: A Working-Class Perspective” at the State Library of WA at 2pm.

On Red Books Day, the anniversary of the publication of the Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels, we will be having an open-ended discussion on Davis’s work, pulling from her ideas within the chapter about domestic manifestations of labour, and how to rethink labour and production from intersectional and Marxist perspectives.

The group is open to all who come to it respectfully, regardless of experience. If you have any interest at all in anticapitalist concepts of labour, we would love for you to come along and add your voice to the conversation.
