Join Red Ant and Solidarity Committee For Rakyat Indonesia And Papua (SCRIPP Naarm) in our continuing reading of “The Jakarta Method” by Vincent Bevan. We are up to Chapter 8 but feel free to join even if you had not read the previous chapters.
Vincent Bevins’ work is essential for understanding how the US exported the Indonesian genocide as a global template for counterinsurgency: across Latin America, the Philippines, South Korea, South Africa, and beyond. The “success” of 1965 became the empire’s playbook for crushing communist and anti-imperialist movements everywhere. We meet Friday July 17 at 6:30pm, Kathleen Syme Library, Meeting Room 3
